Privacy concerns in the global marketplace highlighted at CSI computer security event

SAN FRANCISCO--Organizations today are facing serious concerns regarding privacy issues. Consumers are concerned about how information collected will be used or misused. Employers need to know how new technology and legislation may put them at risk. Rebecca Herold, Chief Privacy Officer and Senior Security Architect at QinetiQ Trusted Information Management, and author of the book, The Privacy Papers: Managing Technology, Consumer and Employee and Legislative Actions, will present a double session on this important topic. The session will be held Monday afternoon, November 11.

The session provides answers to such questions as: What laws and regulations apply to individual organizations? What constitutes "confidential information" about employees, customers and clients? How do organizations resolve conflicts between the need for information security and the expectation of privacy? It will present an overview of U.S. and international privacy laws and offer policies and tools for business organization.

This session is one of over a hundred offered at the 29th Annual Computer Security Conference and Exhibition, which will be held November 11-13, 2002 at the Chicago Hilton. For more information or to obtain a press credential, please call Robert Richardson at (610) 604-4604.
