Official Call for Nominations for Information Security Executive of the Year National Award 2004
ATLANTA, Ga., June 14, 2004 - Executive Alliance, Inc. and Computer Security Institute today announced the official Call for Nominations for the first annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Award 2004. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at www.infosecaward.com and will be accepted until Friday, August 13, 2004. The winner of the ISE National Award will be named at an evening Award Ceremony held in conjunction with the CSI 31st Annual Computer Security Conference and Exhibition on Monday, November 8, 2004.
Based upon the success of regional ISE Award Galas, the ISE National Award honors the nation's leading, most innovative information security pioneers. Recognizing exemplary achievement and excellence in managing enterprise-wide Internet and network security systems, the Award is presented to a chief security officer, or an executive in an equivalent position, who has overall responsibility for network and/or Internet security and whose company is based in the U.S. Previously, the ISE Georgia Award was presented to Rich Baich, CISO of ChoicePoint, in 2004 and to Monique Shivanandan, VP of IT Strategy, Security and Business Continuity for BellSouth, in 2003.
Nominees, finalists and the winner will be honored during the Award Ceremony, which features Fritz Nelson, VP & Group Publisher, Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group, as Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers Chris Keating, Director of CSI, and Peter Kuper, Director of Institutional Research for SG Cowen, will join Nelson in celebrating this year's contenders for ISE National Award.
"The CSI Annual Conference has always been an arena in which the best and the brightest gather and share ideas," states Julie Hogan, Director of Events for CSI. "CSI is proud to align with ISE in honoring and recognizing those who have achieved excellence in the field of information security."
According to Richard Marshall, former Deputy Director of the Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office (CIAO) and keynote speaker at a previous ISE Georgia Award Ceremony, "The Information Security Executive of the Year Award captures that pioneering spirit [of IT] by recognizing leaders who have shaped security as it is today and will blaze the path toward the future."
All nominations must be submitted via email at nationalnominee2004@infosecaward.com or fax to 404-663-4492 by August 31, 2004.
